Reason for Joining: I went to Parent & Family Orientation with my son and was reminded of all the fun and informational things that are ongoing at the U on a daily basis beyond sports. At lunch we ran across the Parent Association table and I thought "What a great way to stay connected with my son's experience as well as to enrich my own connection to the U and be a part of making the U an even greater place for all of us."

Reason for Joining: Sending my first child to college felt a little overwhelming! During orientation I stopped by the parent hospitality room. Talking to other parents that had been through the process was invaluable. I wanted to be in a position to offer assistance and support to other parents. I like feeling connected to the university and staying informed about all of the amazing opportunities that are available at the U. Go Utah!!!!

Reason for Joining: Myself, my parents, and many family members have all attended the University of Utah. Now, my kids are attending the University. As I was presented with this opportunity, I realized this was my opportunity to give back in a small way to this wonderful institution which I have benefited from for so long and in so many ways. I look forward to joining the Parent Association Executive Committee as a way to learn more about the University, to support my kids as they attend the University, to give back in a small way for all that I have received from this University through the years and to finally share what I learn with other University parents.

Reason for Joining: My wife and two of my children attend or attended the University of Utah. My reason for joining the Executive Committee is to support the school and be involved with the education of my youngest son. I hope to be of service to other parents and support the advancement of the University’s goals and directives. I am a graduate of the University. When we attended the New Student Orientation for our youngest son and saw the table for the Parent Association it brought back memories of the fun I had as a student. I want to be involved, as much as possible in ensuring my son has a great college experience.

Reason for Joining:"It takes a village to raise a child." When I attended orientation, I was impressed to learn that the U shares this philosophy and acknowledges that a partnership between the University and parents is vital to a student's success. I joined the Executive Committee to promote this philosophy and make a positive and meaningful contribution to the University community. When my daughter began her college education, leaving our small village to join the larger University village, I wanted to continue to be involved in "village life" and being a part of this organization enables me to do so.

Reason for Joining: As an Alumni of the U and advocate of higher education, I was very impressed with the support and resources that were offered to the parents and students at the freshman orientation. I was inspired to join the Parent Association Executive Committee to improve my knowledge about the U’s programs, and how I can continue to support my student as well as future students and their parents.

Reason for Joining: I decided to get involved with the Parent Association Executive Committee because I felt like I could help connect other parents with the resources they need to best support their student in creating the best possible college experience. I am happy to consult with parents who have questions about the “out of state” perspective, the business school, honors college, and fraternity experience. I graduated from the University of Utah and loved my education. My son is a 5th generation University of Utah student. My great grandfather attended in 1890! I’m excited to be part of this great group!
