Swoop Camp is A GREAT way to start your college experience at the
Recipient of the National Orientation Directors Association 2017 Innovative Program
Award, Swoop Camp is a once in a lifetime extended orientation program designed to
further ease the transition of new students to the University of Utah.
At Swoop Camp students form connections with their peers, develop intentional leadership
skills, share Utah history and traditions, and are provided resources for involvement
and success at the U! Swoop Camp is designed to complement New Student Orientation
and follows seamlessly after New Student Orientation sessions.

This is one of our most popular Swoop Camps. Swoop Base Camp is all about "glamping" and adventure in the mountains of Utah. You will attend this
the week before Fall classes begin. Swoopers will stay in either a cabin or yurt.
Experience an obstacle course, Swoop Olympics, ga-ga ball, giant rope swing, paint
a Block U, participate in camp skits, and much more. Get ready to meet your best friends!
Salt Lake City, is the Utah's cultural mecca, has the best shopping, amazing restaurants
and home to the University of Utah. Swoop Campus gives you the chance to explore both the campus and the city we call home. Enjoy
the student life center with climbing walls, canoeing, swimming pools, and so much
more!
Swoop Camp Adventure is a true outdoor adventure! Spend four days getting to know other outdoor enthusiasts
while paddle boarding, rock-climbing, hiking and more!
Get up-close and personal with the great outdoors at Swoop Camp Backcountry. If you live and breath the outdoors, are an experienced hiker/back-packer, and want
to spend time in nature before kicking off your on-campus experiences, this extended
orientation is for you
